If you’ve worked with a builder to customize the home, you may feel a sense of ownership and belonging from the word go, but if it’s a quick move-in, (a brand new home, built without customization) or a pre-owned home, this isn’t always the case. You can always make changes in the future, but the best time to put your own stamp on a home is right when you move in. This helps you and your family feel that your new dwellings are truly yours.
Furnishing Your New Home
The way you furnish your home goes a long way towards the overall atmosphere. You may be taking furniture from your previous home, but this is the time to consider making some changes. Does your old furniture match the style of the new house?
Updating your furniture is a way to really feel like you are starting afresh. This doesn’t mean you have to discard everything from the past. You should, however, take inventory and decide what items could be replaced to make your home even more appealing.
